To dearest Kate. Let me start by saying I'm a proud McThrill, hahaha. I found your videos about a year ago. And thank the lord I did. My like changed. I couldn't believe my ears! I didn't know there was so much talent in the world! Instantly, I was, well, somewhat obsessed (and obsessed with the fact that you're British, I have an unhealthy obsession with England.) Ever since then, you've been everywhere in my life. On my iPod, on my computer. Is it strange I can't go a day without listening to one of your songs? Anywho, I'm not here to tell you how great, insanely awesome, epically amazing you are, I'm here to tell you how you've changed my life. I don't know if you intended to do so, but you've sent a message to me. I suffer (well, I wouldn't say suffer, because I DON'T suffer, but it's the best I can find. It's EEC syndrome, and it's really weird, trust me) from a syndrome which has shaped me, made me who I am, good and bad. Your message (whether you planned to deliver it or not) has taught me that the stars are there and ready to reach for, that my dream is achievable, just by sticking to it. Although I'm not a talented musician like you (I honestly can't play anything, I break any instrument I pick up. It's horrible) you have still, well... Inspired me. Your songs remind me that there is a way to make it. Your songs help me going, keep me up... if you will. I hope you realise how much of an impact you've had on your fans! On me! I wanted to thank you, thank-you so bloody much, for being such a beautiful role model, thank-you for being my idol. Thank-you for reaching for the stars, for doing what you love, thank-you for filling us with such beautiful music, and thank-you, so goddamn freakin' much, for changing my life <3 - Sophie x 14, Sydney, Australia.

To be honest, when I listened to your new teaser the first thing I thought wasn't "Wow she sounds like Ellie Goulding" (actually I didn't think that at all) I thought "wow this is really fucking good". It's not often you hear someone who sounds unique, and you and Ellie are similar in that you are both unique, but that's as far as the similarity goes. But because it's so rare to have that uniqueness, people clump all the unique people together and compare them all to each other. You are unique, and to me, and hundreds of other people, you will always be Kate Laura fucking McGill, not that girl that sounds like Ellie Goulding. :)

I don't think you're anything like Ellie Goulding. Your voice is very unique. I think you sound just like yourself. And that's perfect. :)

I must warn you in advance that you have one colossal essay on your hands. Feel free to run away in terror, delete this ask, etcetc. I don't really know where to begin so I'll just dive right in, it's what I tend to do! Basically, I would be completely and utterly lost without you, katembloody3. Your music is indescribable, I have cried countless times listening to your covers and songs because your voice moves me so much, as do your beautiful lyrics and gorgeous little guitar strums. I listen to your YouTube videos quite literally every day, and I can honestly say that your music has got me through some really tough times, helped me get to sleep at night, and I am ever so thankful for it and for the day you decided to join YouTube. You seem like such a wonderful, lovely person and you are unbelievably talented, your voice is so unique and beautiful and your lyrics are stunning! You are going to go so far, and I can tell you are still so grounded and so thankful for all this and I respect you always for that, your love and passion for music always shines through and you have so much drive to continue it as a career. You have so many people supporting you the whole way. You have inspired me endlessly, truly - though I'd love to be a singer, music has played such a huge part in my life, the thought of me pursuing that dream is pretty hilarious as I sound like a strangled cat. Seriously. But my dream is to be an actress, and just like you with singing, it's not for the fame, or the money, it's for the electricity it gives me and the love I feel for it and how prepared I am to fight for it. Your passion and determination inspires me to fight for my dream, (hence my pretty cheesy tumblr name, lololol) so thank you.
